Episode 23: Long Distance Friendships

In this fortnight’s episode we decide to tackle the topic of long distance friendships. Most of us have friends that we adore but don’t get to see all that often simply because of geography. Maybe one of you moved, or you were all scattered over the country after uni, whatever the reason sometimes maintaining a friendship when you don’t get to see one another can feel pretty diffuclt. Given that we’ve been long distance friends for the majority of the time we’ve known one another and Helli’s big announcement in this episode we thought it was the perfect timing to long distance friendships.

22: Keeping Fit

We all know that exercising and keeping fit is important but it can often feel so difficult to work it around our busy lives and other commitments. Even if you love working out, finding the time can feel like a real challenge. This fortnight we discuss the ways we try to still prioritise excercise and why we always ensure it’s something we make time for, regardless of whether we love it and always have (Helli) or find building up the motivation more challenging (Charlotte).

Episode 21: Why It’s Ok To Quit Your Job

We’ve spoken about careers and finding the right job before, but this week we’re talking about why it’s okay to quite your job. Your 20s can be a confusing time trying to figure out what you want from your career and what job makes you happy, but the added pressure from past generations and the expectation from those around us seems to make quitting your job a bit of a taboo topic. We’re chatting about our own experiences of quitting our jobs, how you know when you should quit and putting a plan in place for what to do next. Whether you’re quitting because you’re unhappy, looking for a new career, going travelling, going into education or just looking for a new opportunity, you need to do what’s right for you.

Episode 19: Catch Up #2

After a busy few weeks we decided to spend this fortnight catching up properly, sharing what we’ve been up to over the past month or so and doing what we do best, having a good old chat. Normal discussion topics will resume next week (in preparation for our 20th episode!) but for now we’re sharing our latest recommendations, our adventures in Malta and a bit about how we’ve been staying postive when things haven’t quite gone to plan, because believe us when we say plans have really go awry this fortnight!

We’ve got some exciting things coming up for our 20th episode, including a Q&A, so keep sending in your questions to @20sarehard or 20sarehard@gmail.com

In other exciting news, we’re now on Spotify too so you can listen to us in even more places!

Episode 18: Comparison

In this week’s episode we catch up on our recent trips to New York (Helli) and Lisbon (Charlotte) and get into the big old topic of comparison. It’s something that seems to effect us all, whether we’re comparing ourselves to our friends, strangers on the internet or past versions of ourselves. There’s something about being in your twenties though that seems to make comparison even more apparent and it’s so easy to take your eyes off of what you’re doing and suddenly slip into that downward spiral of comparing yourself to everyone around you. We chat about this, why comparison often just does more harm than good and how we snap out of a comparison rut when we find ourselves in one.

Episode 17: Sustainability

This fortnight we’re tackling another big topic, sustainability. Until now we’ve been a little nervous to discuss this because we’re far from experts and know we could both do more. It can also feel like such an overwhelming task to have to ‘save the world’ but we’ve decided to tackle it head on and in this episode we’re sharing some of the changes we’ve made in our everyday lives to do our bit to help our planet. We’ve become increasignly aware of our impact ont he world and how we can live most sustainabily over the past few years but as ever we’re always open to learning more and sharing tips so we can all do a little bit more. If you have any suggestions please feel free to share them either here or via our Instagram page @20sarehard. We also have our usual catch up, talk about Charlotte’s eternal love for ABBA and Helli’s latest TV love.

Episode 16: Budget Travel

It’s no secret that we both love to travel and explore new places but neither of us have the money or time to just drop everything and explore somewhere new whenever we fancy it. We’re both advocates of the fact that whilst being able to travel is a privilege it doesn’t have to be as expensive as you first think. If you’re willing to invest a little bit of time, plan things through and make a couple of compromises you can cut the cost of any trip down. In this episode we’re sharing our best tips of how to reduce costs and how we manage to afford to travel with all of life’s other expenses.

Episode 15: Discussing Personal Style

This fortnight we decided it was about time we discussed something a little lighter so we’re chatting all about fashion, personal style and wardrobe staples. It’s something we both love and can be so much fun so whether you want to just get involved in the conversation or are looking for that confidence boost when it comes to stepping outside your style comfort zones, we’re here. We also discuss Our Planet, Captain Marvel (no spoilers, don’t worry) and the people you simply must be following on Instagram.

Episode 14: Feeling Overwhelmed

We’re back with another episode and what a fortnight it’s been! It’s been busy for both of us and so it seemed only right that we are discussing that feeling of being overwhelmed in this fortnight’s episode. We get into why it’s OK and totally normally to feel overwhelmed sometimes and share some of the things we do to try and prevent that feeling settling in. We also have our usual catch up and share some of our favourite from the past couple of weeks.
