197: Is Wellness Girly the New Girl Boss?

Helena’s preparing for a big life shift and Charlotte has been going through family photos from over a century ago! We’re covering a topic we’re really excited about this week – is the Wellness Girly trend the new Girl Boss? Girl Boss has been dismantled over recent years but is this new trend helpful, is it a response to the burnout and financial challenges that millennials are experiencing right now, is it exclusionary in its trending aesthetic or is it an empowering movement?

We’d love to hear your thoughts on this one!

196: Staying Consistent & Removing Friction to Make Habits Easier

We’re both confused about how January was 3 months long but February has only been 3 days long – but we’re back with another episode sharing two podcasts we’ve been loving recently as well as Helena’s new love for Cabybaras and Charlotte’s new favourite bag from Uniqlo. This week we’re chatting about why habits can feel overwhelming at the start and ways to identify and remove friction to make habits feel easier.

195: Intentionality & Designing Your Ideal Day

Helena has been celebrating Lunar New Year in Vietnam and Charlotte has THE BEST handbag pill box organiser (yes we are very excited about this!) We also have a catch up about the new Taylor Swift album announcement before we chat about intentionality in designing your day-to-day.

This isn’t about having a big “woo” conversation about intentionality, but more about making conscious decisions to include things that bring joy or purpose in your daily life. We talk about morning routines or good habits to create purpose and being proactive in designing a life you enjoy, rather than letting life happen to you.

194: The Joy Of Embracing Girlhood

Last year it felt like we had the summer of “girlhood” and suddenly embracing all the light hearted, fun, girlie things became more acceptable. We had Barbie and The Eras Tour, friendship bracelets and pink EVERYTHING. It was fun, inclusive, positive and just joyful. So we want to talk about how after years of hiding away from our softer feminine energy we’re finally embracing and enjoying it

193: Is Being High Maintenance Such A Bad Thing?

We’re back from another unscheduled hiatus (life happens!) and we’re can’t wait to dive into this week’s topic. We’re discussing the idea of being high maintenance, what does it *actually* mean and who even cares if someone is high maintenance. Is it just a misogynistic term that’s thrown at women too easily or it is just rooted within jealousy and comparison to others? We talking about why having high standards and wanting to take care of yourself is never a bad thing, but also how it’s truly no one’s business if you’re the one maintaining yourself.

After our conversation I had a look into the work ‘queer’ and (like so many things) it looks like there’s a lot of different opinions on who, if anyone should use the word to describe people in the LGBTQ+ community. If I offended anyone by using the word as a straight woman, then I’m sorry. These two articles were great in helping me get a bit more context on the history of the word and how it’s being reclaimed. We’re always learning and trying to do better, and that’s what this podcast is all about!

192: The Value of Small, Gentle Goals

While Charlotte is already looking at wedding venues in the UK, Helli has finally found an apartment without mould in Vietnam. But together this week we’re talking about the value of small, gentle goals and how our mindset towards tangible, measurable goals has shifted over the last year. Big New Year goals can often lead to more stress, but gentle goals are all about a “better you” without giving you more on your plate to stress about – those 1% changes each day that build a foundation for the bigger goals further down the line.

191: Identity, Self-Perception & Inevitable Changes

We’re a week into the year and we’ve already found a podcast episode that totally changed Charlotte’s outlook on overwhelm and a book that Helli is saying could be the best book of the year! Yeah, we’re setting the bar high this year. We’re also diving head first into a conversation about identity, self-perception and how this inevitably changes as we grow. But when it’s something that we see as integral to our personality, how do we reconcile that change and how do we maintain our authenticity?

190: Welcoming and Embracing Change

Happy New Year!

We’re back with our first episode of 2024 discussing how we can all approach change without the fear and discomfort that is so often associated with change. Where does the idea that we should fear change even come from? We’re chatting about how our own mindset towards change has shifted and how we’re approaching changes in our own lives in 2024.

189: 5 Habits That Have Had the Biggest Impact on Our Lives

WE BOTH HAVE BIG UPDATES!

Here’s the episode we never expected to be recording at the end of 2023 but we’ve both got big life updates and we’re also approaching the end of this year slightly differently. Usually we talk about goal setting, but this year we’re sharing the habits that have had the biggest impact on our lives so far. Incremental changes and strong foundations are something we always talk about when it comes to habits.

So if you’re not sure how to approach big goals for the New Year, maybe think about smaller shifts and habits you can start to implement that have a bigger impact over time.

We’ll be taking a short break over Christmas and the New Year but we’ll be back in January with more episodes.

188: It’s Not Only You: Easy Ways To Cope With Overwhelm

Snow roads, aprés skiing, “intimate” flora and how we’re coping with that classic end-of-the-year-overwhelm…it’s safe to say there aren’t many things we *don’t* discuss in this week’s episode. It’s that point in the year where we’re all starting to feel *it*. The tiredness is kicking in, we’re reflecting on what we have (or maybe haven’t) achieved and we’re looking ahead to a brand new year. Even though it’s such an exciting time of year it’s also the easiest time to have the overwhelm creep in, but when that tiny little thing pushes you over the edge (catching your jumper on a door knob as you walk past, anyone?) you can take comfort in knowing you really aren’t alone. We’re sharing why it happens, how to pick yourself up and ways we’re trying to prevent it for next year.
