163: Comparison of Where You Thought You’d Be vs. Where You Are

We’ve spoken about comparison before but this week we’re chatting specifically about where we thought we would be vs. where we actually are. A lot of these personal beliefs and expectations are based on life markers of what society says we should be doing or deems “successful”. But if you had a very specific idea of where you would be at this point in your life or what you would have achieved, it can be really challenging to reconcile where you actually are – regardless of all the other things you’ve done and achieved along the way.

Just because you’re not where you’d thought you would be, it doesn’t mean you’ve failed or you’re not thriving, sometimes the path you’ve taken instead is even better than what you’d expected, or you’ve maybe realised that what you thought you wanted is no longer right for you.

162: A Practical Guide to Manifesting

Before you turn off this episode, if you’re a bit of a skeptic when it comes to all things manifesting and abundance mindset then this episode is for you. Most people think that manifesting is what you see on TikTok, visualising something you want and it magically falls into your lap. The honest truth is that’s not how it works and we’re conscious of the privilege that feeds into that narrative. As two former skeptics and very practical people ourselves, we discuss how we actually came to see the benefits of manifesting and how we incorporate it into our lives in a practical way that helps us to manage our mindset and reach our goals.

We also have a few recommendations on books that we found really helped us understand more and move away from the skepical mindset.

160: How To Actually Embrace Flexible Working

Flexible working might seem a bit of a rouge topic for a podcast that talks about personal growth but bear with us. Flexible working has gone from a luxury afforded to a few to something that is now almost assumed to be an established practice within a lot of industries. We’ve got more options with how we work, when we work and where we work but unless we know how we actually work best and what is the most effective thing for those around us then we might not make the most of it. If you do it right then flexible working can be an antidote to hustle culture, it can help with achieving a work-life blend that works for you and help you to enjoy your work far more too, so we want to talk about how you discover what works for you and how to make the most of it. See, not that rogue after all 😉
